The Consequence of Sinning Willfully
Hebrew 10:26 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.
Many people today use grace as an excuse to indulge, live & practice sin. They will tell you that they have the grace to commit steal, live a fraudulent lifestyle, commit fornication & many other atrocities.
You hear many so call believers go against God’s commandment with impunity & tell you that the God has already forgiven them of the sins they have already committed & the ones they are yet to commit. Does the fact that Christ has paid the price for your sins give the Christian the right to live in sin? The answer is a capital NO.
The bible says that shall we continue in sin that grace may abound, God forbid how shall we that are dead to sin live any longer in it. How will you feel if your child refuses to read & study his books & then fails intentionally & has to repeat the same class? When you complain about your child’s behaviour, he tells you that daddy/mummy I fail because I know that you have a lot of money & I want you to spend the money so that it will not be a waste.
If a Christian lives a sinless life on a daily basis year in year out, does it mean that grace is being wasted? The answer is no.
I want you to know one thing that according to Hebrew 10:26 which says that for if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sin. Sinning willfully has its consequences. This passage tells you that as far as you are living in sin intentionally that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is not applicable to you. So dear brother & sister if you know that you have been using grace as an excuse to commit sin repent & turn away with genuine intentions.
